Outrigger Ocean Challenge 2005
at Little Island Park, Virginia Beach, VA
A giant "MAHALO!" to the Sandbridge OCC crew for a wonderful weekend of racing and fun. As always, it was a great time and you guys did a terrific job with everything. The race, the weather (please pass that one), the awards, the food - it was all just da BEST.
We're also very happy that the potentially ugly incident at the beginning of the men's start had a happy ending and everyone was safe & sound at the end of the day. However, I feel it's important to say just as a reminder to everyone for every race ---directors and participants alike---racing and winning is important and fun, but safety has to be first in our minds at all times. Mahalo to Bill for taking time for the reminder before the start of the next race.
Taking care of our 'OHANA and racing with ALOHA should be what we all strive to do. Hope to see everyone in Philly (for the ECORA Sprint Championships) on the 20th!
